Full-Time Cost Effective Manufacturing, Inc – SolidWorks Designer

Cost Effective Manufacturing, Inc currently has a part-time to full time position available for an Industrial Machinery Engineer/Designer with experience in SolidWorks at our Turlock Office. We are a small but fast growing & friendly company.

The ideal candidate(s) will have all/some of the following experience:

Food processing plant conveying/machinery design for beef, poultry & dairy

Experience with platforms, ladders and misc. structural equipment

Experience with OSHA Codes and Standards:

Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

JOB SUMMARY
Must be able to work independently under management guidance/supervision.

Will carry out 2-D Equipment Layout & 3-D Engineering Modeling of Machinery/Equipment

Assists with Estimated Project/Job Costing

Prepares 3D assemblies and detailed drawings.

BOM’s and assignments of industrial machinery, such as conveyors, dumpers, box and packaging conveyor and equipment.

Designs according to engineering specifications using Solidworks and AutoCAD/Draftsight software.

Reviews engineering drawings and supporting documentation to verify adherence to standard practices.

MUST work closely with Lead Engineers and Customers to meet and exceed expectations for the project.

ESSENTIAL JOB POSITION FUNCTIONS

· 3-D Modeling of Industrial Equipment and Machinery Parts

· Assisting Project Manager on all new projects from start to finish

· Reverse engineering of machinery and parts.

· Ordering of materials and parts from a variety of vendors

· Transform initial rough product designs into working documents and manufacturing drawings.

· Perform 2D mechanical type drafting projects using AutoCAD/Draftsight 2020

· Perform 3D mechanical type modeling and drafting projects using Solidworks 2020

· Meet with design staff to determine design requirements, modifications, and issues.

· Resolve anticipated fabrication problems early through drawings details, notes and communication.

· Travel to project/job/customer sites

· Work with Solidworks to create detailed drawings, and when necessary, bills of material to be used in the fabrications and installation of our products.

· Perform calculations to produce design information necessary to create Fabrication drawings.

· Efficiently produce accurate drawing for review and approval by Supervisor.

· Prioritize assigned projects based on date due.

· Develop and maintain ANSI drafting standards and custom details for all company products

· Interface between operations, plant managers, customers and/or vendors when necessary.

· Ability to accurately read and interpret site plans, working knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within engineering field.

· Offers guidance, support and training to peers on other projects.

· Maneuver through manufacturing facility or job sites in a safe and professional fashion.

· Comply with all safety procedures set forth by the company.

· Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Ability to withstand substantial movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

· Ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time

· Ability to work after hours and on weekends if necessary

· Lift/carry up to 50 lbs

QUALIFICATIONS

· Very Strong technical skills including an academic background in Solidworks 2020 and AutoCAD/Draftsight: SolidWorks Simulation (2019) a plus

· Experience using Office and Windows 10

· Excellent math and geometry skills.

· Excellent communication skills both oral and written with entire team.

· Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and schematics.

· Ability to work as a member of a team on a daily basis.

· Demonstrate attention to detail in conditions that may pose frequent changes, delays, and/or unexpected events.

· Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards.

· Reliable, professional and friendly team player with focus on team goals

· Must have valid California Drivers license and clean driving record
