Full-Time SolidWorks CAD Designer Drafter Phoenix AZ

Interstate Truck Bodies is currently seeking Experienced SolidWorks Designer / Drafter to model and design heavy duty truck bodies and equipment. This will include water trucks, Dump Bodies and Lube/Fuel bodies. Previous Truck Body design along with sheet metal and steel fabrication background experience is a plus.

Work Schedule Will be: Monday – Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM with extended hours when work back log requires.

Duties, Responsibilities and Qualifications

Job Duties:

• Design new concepts along with manufactured assemblies with drawings for fabrication, welding and assembly shop
• Generate DXF files for department operators
• Create detailed truck models and layout drawings per Sales and customer requirements utilizing SolidWorks CAD software.
• Manage ECR and ECN process
• Revise and update existing 2D drawings as needed
• Work with existing vendors
• Research and recommend new vendors.
• Interact with Inter departments to create/maintain bills of materials
• Support Sales with 2d approval drawings for customers
• Timely execution of responsibilities

Mandatory Requirements:

• 3D CAD experience SolidWorks preferred
• Preferably 4 years’ experience in the field
• 2 years SolidWorks experience required
• Experience designing sheet metal parts (mandatory), including an understanding of forming standards, flat patterns and manufacturing is highly desired for this role
• Knowledge of drawing standards
• Mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate proficiently and professionally.
• ERP system experience a plus, but not required.

· Read and understand drawing, shop work orders and sketches.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
