Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Industrial Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing innovative design solutions that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. This role involves collaborating with engineers and other designers to create products that enhance user experience while adhering to industry standards. Durham NC

Duties

  • Conduct design research to understand user needs and market trends.
  • Develop concepts and prototypes using various design software.
  • Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings for manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs based on feedback.
  • Utilize design thinking methodologies to solve complex problems.
  • Fabricate prototypes and conduct testing to evaluate functionality and usability.
  • Present design ideas and concepts to stakeholders, incorporating their input into final designs.

Skills

  • Proficiency in design software such as Keyshot, Sketchup, Creo, AutoCAD, and Rhinoceros 3D.
  • Strong mechanical design skills with an understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in digital design and the ability to create visually appealing presentations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on design thinking principles.
  • Ability to conduct thorough design research that informs product development.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating innovative products.
