Job Description

We are seeking candidates with 3+ years of related machine design experience who are self-motivated as individual contributors and function effectively in a team-based environment.

Polypack designs, manufactures, services, and supports a diverse line of wrapping and packing equipment that utilizes standard platforms with modular construction, adapted to specific end-user requirements via customized tooling and change parts.

An environmentally conscious company, Polypack generates much of its power requirements through 1,629 roof-mounted solar panels. Polypack is committed to protecting the Earth’s natural resources and is seeking candidates who will support and help develop these conservation efforts.

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a history of progressive responsibility
  • US citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Knowledge of design criteria, industry standards, and regulatory requirements for packaging machinery
  • Solid Works (or similar software) experience, with a working knowledge of configurations and equations
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work hands-on, if needed.

The primary duties of this position are:

  • Design and detail of machinery and machine componentry that is cost-effective, user-friendly, robust, and serviceable
  • Interact with Sales, Manufacturing, and Clients to identify solutions to machine and application issues
  • Create and maintain schedules for assigned projects
  • Release parts and designs that comply with company standards and that meet internal schedules
  • Create and implement design improvements, cost reductions, and changeover reductions
  • Size and specify purchased componentry. Work with purchasing and outside suppliers as required to meet project objectives
  • Create test protocols and write test reports for R&D work
  • Maintain accurate and detailed 3D Solid Works representation of any and all changes made to released machinery
  • Provide guidance to manufacturing, including hands-on assembly and debugging
  • Stay current with technology and other advancements pertinent to the industry; present findings to management as appropriate; implement into existing standard designs as approved

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
