Job Description

As a CAD Designer, you will prepare, review, and update product and pipe support drawings and specifications. You will design components for both new products and enhancements to existing products or applications, ensuring accuracy to minimize manufacturing rework.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and update product and pipe support drawings and specifications.
  • Design components for both new products and enhancements to existing products or applications.
  • Review drawings and bills of materials produced by CADD/Designers for accuracy.
  • Collaborate within a team to deliver high-quality work.
  • Participate in meetings with various departments and customer personnel to support quality design.
  • Ensure design concepts are technically sound and budget-aligned.
  • Maintain industry practices knowledge and apply relevant codes and standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD environments.
  • Maintain electronic design files and engineering documentation securely.
  • Verify drawings and documentation for compliance before manufacturing release.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, piping, 3D modeling, and pipe support.
  • Experience in CAD and drafting.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a 3D modeling environment focused on pipe support design.
  • Vocational or technical school certification or diploma in AutoCAD.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • An associate degree in industrial design or engineering is preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and procedural requirements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong conceptual skills for visualizing completed products and projects.
  • Experience with computer-aided and structural drafting is preferred.
  • Goal-oriented and able to succeed in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong creative problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment

The work environment is collaborative and fast-paced, requiring effective communication with team members and customers. Proficiency in using software tools such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is necessary for success in this role

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00/hr.
