The successful candidate will be an individual with experience in using SolidWorks to produce drawings in a manufacturing environment. A Drafter will be expected to:

· Liaise with engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs.

· Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used).

· Create detailed designs for sheet metal including assemblies and drawings in SolidWorks.

· Provide proper dimensioning with manufacturing inspections in mind to ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.

· Work with the manufacturing engineer to design diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate workflow.

· Prepare and review prints and review them along with the engineering team.

· Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.

· Work with the marketing team to create manual drawings that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance.

The minimum qualifications to be considered for the Drafter role include:

· Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role.

· Minimum of two years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks obtained in a work environment and/or via internships.

· Experience with designing sheet metal components.

· Manufacturing experience.

· Self-driven work ethic.

· Ability to meet deadlines.

· High level of attention to detail.

· Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred consideration will be provided to candidates with qualifications in addition to the minimum qualifications including:

· Certifications: American Design Drafting Association (ADDA), Lean Six Sigma, and/or other relevant certification.

· PDM or other vault management system.

· Welding experience.

· Lean manufacturing experience.

· Design for Manufacturing (DFM).

· CNC experience.

· Design optimization.

· Availability of a portfolio.

Pay range is provided in consideration of local laws; any pay offer will be dependent on candidate’s experience level but will not be lower than the posted pay range.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $28.00 per hour

This position requires experience in 3D design drawings preference Solidworks. Consider Design-Engine’s training courses on sheet metal.
