Job Description

Intralox LLC is looking for a New Product Development Engineer to join our Emerging Capabilities (EC) Team in New Orleans. This team focuses on new materials, innovative ideas, and technology to shape future lines of products that will meet our customers’ needs. This job will use mechanical engineering skills to efficiently de-risk new technology, validate material properties, and develop new designs that leverage new material capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of new materials and conveyance technology through testing, design, and manufacturing
  • Requirements gathering and clear communication with engineering peers to ensure alignment on scope and objectives.
  • Testing – we want to objectively de-risk and validate new technology to determine the limits applied to part and system design. Own the design, analysis, and outcomes of the mechanical testing. Includes failure analysis and design ideas to continuously improve.
  • Design – New materials may need new testing methods and enable new design capabilities.
  • Use engineering calculations and SolidWorks / Creo to bring your ideas to life.
  • Manufacturing – Coordinate manufacturing processes and evaluations like injection molding, extrusion, and machining
  • Proactive travel to understand our customer applications and field environments (< 15%).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional experience developing new products: plastics, conveyor systems, part/system design, validation/testing, and design for manufacturing
  • High personal standards for work quality and execution. Must be self-managed, creative, and have a high sense of urgency for their priorities.
  • Strong technical skills to simplify communication across teams and customers.
  • Willingness to travel (< 15%).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
