Wirtz Manufacturing is hiring an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to work in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities:

At Wirtz Manufacturing, our Mechanical Engineers are frequently tasked with the following assignments:

  • Complete equipment design using SolidWorks design software.
  • Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.
  • Prepare design specifications.
  • Conduct research on mechanisms, components and systems
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment.
  • Ensures the required customer sales order details, customer specifications, domestic and global machine building codes and regulations are incorporated into their design.
  • Write product specifications, product manuals, prepare product operating instructions and review technical literature.
  • Research, design, evaluate, install and instruct operators on equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5+ years’ experience as Mechanical Design Engineer.
  • Proficient in detailing & checking drawings
  • Knowledge and experience with GD&T specifications
  • General knowledge in design using “Electro-Mechanical” components
  • Knowledgeable in hydraulic and pneumatic systems and calculations
  • Proficient in a CAD system, preferably SolidWorks.
  • FEA knowledge a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
