Job Description

Sterling ATM, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a national leader in manufacturing custom ATM enclosures, signage, and branding solutions for financial institutions across the country. We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team.

What You’ll Do:

Design & Engineering:

  • Develop conceptual and detailed fabrication designs for custom signage, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
  • Create accurate technical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
  • Perform material selection, structural analysis, and tolerance assessments to ensure durability and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, production, installation) to refine designs for cost-effectiveness and ease of manufacturing.

Manufacturing Support:

  • Assist with first article inspections (FAI) to verify that initial production samples meet design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to design, fabrication, or assembly processes.
  • Provide technical guidance to production teams to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of new signage products.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Solid works experience – SolidWorks preferred
  • CAM experience a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-setting
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Experience in metal fabrication/sheet metal a plus
  • Experience with milled and molded composites a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
