Job Description

Master Machine Repair is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in SOLIDWORKS in Bedford Park, IL. You will be a key liaison in providing solutions to customer challenges and bringing those ideas to life in our shop. We will depend on you to:

  • Design components and assemblies, reverse engineer parts from a sample, and document this through making drawings in Autodesk Inventor.
  • Build relationships with our customers.
  • Managing projects and ensuring these jobs run smoothly throughout the shop. Estimate jobs by:
  • Analyzing drawings
  • Determining what materials and components are needed to manufacture the parts/assembly
  • Submit bills of materials to purchasing for quoting
  • Develop a scope of work to manufacture or machine the parts/assembly by working closely with our management team
  • Developing a final quoted cost to our customers which are both competitive and fair

Your role is key in making our company unique by offering design and engineering capabilities as well as providing solutions to our customer’s problems!

Requirements: Essential skills necessary for a successful candidate

  • Minimum 3-4 years of work experience in mechanical or industrial manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Experience using Inventor and Solidworks
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Proficient in reading drawings.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic position, which requires strong organizational and collaborative skills. You are comfortable jumping into different responsibilities at the drop of a hat.
  • Possess sound judgment in practical matters while making professional decisions.
  • Strong situational leadership skills.
  • Out of the box thinker- We are working on organizational effectiveness and you will need solid problem-solving skills and creativity to help us get there.

Responsibilities: We are looking for individuals that can bring an aptitude for the following:

  • Manage projects and communicate with customers
  • Design components and assemblies
  • Design solutions for improvements to existing solutions
  • Reverse engineer from a sample
  • Quote jobs from a drawing, sample, or description
