Design Catapult, Inc. is a unique industrial design and engineering company located in Fountain Valley, CA. We emphasize product design and prototype development in all fields, including medical and dental, sports and fitness, electronics and computers, and industrial products. For over 20 years, we have been developing projects with an excellent track record of client satisfaction. We are expanding our team, and we are currently looking for a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer who can help us with project-based design and development. Candidates must be self-disciplined, self-motivated individuals who work well in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications Education & Experience Required:

· Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of related experience in product development and delivery of concepts through production solutions.
  • Experience with product development engineering with emphasis on plastics, sheet metals, CNC equipment, and machining processes.
  • Can analyze complex mechanical and electro-mechanical problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including project management.
  • Experience with SolidWorks (3D modeling software) and CAD
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, FDA, and related regulations is desirable but not necessary.
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines.

Duties, Authorities, & Responsibilities:

· Take the conceptual design to the prototype stage.

· Representing the company at product development meetings with clients, ensuring effective implementation of design solutions to meet client goals.

· Establishing productive working relationships with other disciplines such as engineering groups, supply chain, and customers.

· Planning and coordinating multiple projects concurrently.

· Implementing project schedules and plans in an effective and timely manner.

· Taking the initiative and directing various departments to effectively build prototypes

· Directing the production team members and introducing efficient methods for the production line.

· Identifying risk mitigation actions.
