Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer at Shuert Technologies, you’ll help design the parts, processes, and equipment that keep our operation running efficiently. This is a hands-on role with a wide range of responsibilities, including CAD modeling and part design, developing secondary operations, and supporting production. You’ll work closely with tooling, operations, and quality teams to turn engineering ideas into real-world solutions. The work is fast-paced and varied, giving you exposure to both new product development and improvements to existing systems. What You’ll Do

  • Immerse yourself in the world of cutting-edge design as you craft concept designs for a diverse range of thermoformed products. Your creativity will be the driving force behind our innovative product lineup.
  • Harness the power of CAD tools to design intricate tooling fixtures and processing equipment. Your designs will not only ensure the efficiency, quality, and safety of plastic product production but also showcase your mastery of CAD.
  • Engineer secondary processes and custom equipment for trimming, welding, fastening, or inspecting parts. These systems improve throughput, safety, and consistency on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with tooling and manufacturing teams to support smooth product launches and resolve issues during development. Your ability to troubleshoot and adjust designs in real-time will be key.
  • Dive deep into specifications, engineering drawings, and design data to unravel the critical factors influencing component design. Your analytical skills will be crucial in overcoming engineering challenges.
  • Analyze and improve existing products and processes to reduce cost, improve performance, or extend tool life. Your insights will directly impact our bottom line.
  • Support prototype development and testing to validate performance and identify design refinements early.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews with operations, quality, and leadership to prioritize engineering efforts where they matter most.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering, product development, or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including materials, tolerances, and DFM/DFA.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and concepts – Mechanical Engineer preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite Applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes preferred but not required.
