Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the development, design, and integration of advanced automation equipment and precision mechanical systems into manufacturing processes. This position involves designing and delivering high-accuracy automation solutions that meet stringent performance, safety, and reliability standards. The role requires expertise in precision mechanical design, motion systems, assembly techniques, and system integration, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
 
Key Responsibilities  
  • Develop and design mechanical components, fixtures, and systems for precision automation equipment.
  • Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD/Inventor) for detailed design work.  
  • Apply expertise in precision motion control and assembly techniques to create high-accuracy automation solutions.
  • Integrate actuators, sensors, and control systems into automation equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members on system integration projects.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, data analysis, and system optimization to meet precision and reliability requirements.
  • Model systems using engineering principles, conduct simulations, and validate designs using software tools.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, technical reports, and validation protocols.
Required Qualifications  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering strongly preferred (manager may consider equivalent experience in place of degree).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in automation/mechanical engineering fundamentals and principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD, analysis, and statistical software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Matlab, Python, or R).  
  • Experience designing and specifying mechanical components and automation solutions for manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of precision motion control systems (stepper motors, servo motors, linear actuators) and motion control algorithms/programming.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with precision applications.
  • Experience with system-level troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Understanding of precision assembly processes, techniques, and related tools.
  • Ability to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into cohesive systems.
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Understanding of robotics, actuators, and sensors used in automation.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) design.
  • Experience using FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) tools for simulation and analysis.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming languages (Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
Soft Skills  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to convey technical concepts to varied audiences.
  • Skilled in preparing and delivering presentations and reports.
  • Ability to collaborate with clients, vendors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster collaborative, innovative team environments.
  • Effective time management with the ability to balance multiple projects.
