Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer who will transform ideas and requirements into high-quality 3D models and technical drawings that support manufacturing, assembly, and installation. You will collaborate closely with production, quality, and suppliers to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions that meet both customer and internal standards.
Main responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and submittal packages in accordance with project requirements and company standards.
  • Work with the production team to resolve design and manufacturing issues, making modifications as needed to improve manufacturability and assembly.
  • Collaborate with the quality department to analyze nonconformities, develop corrective actions, and present design solutions to customers when required.
  • Select mechanical components and materials, and work with suppliers and external partners to develop and refine new concepts.
  • Interpret and follow design briefs, specifications, and applicable standards to develop practical, innovative product solutions.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement new designs, improvements, and product changes throughout the development cycle.
  • Prepare all necessary detail, assembly, and arrangement drawings required for parts and equipment to be manufactured, assembled, erected, and maintained, in accordance with health and safety policies and industry standards.
  • Create detailed layouts to determine dimensions, tolerances, and clearances, ensuring that components fit together correctly and function as intended.
  • Maintain and update design documentation, drawing revisions, and bill of materials (BOMs) in an organized and traceable manner.
  • Participate in design reviews, provide input on design improvements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
  • Practical experience with at least one 3D CAD software package (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar) is required.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor is considered an asset but is not mandatory; training can be provided for strong candidates.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to clearly communicate design concepts and technical information to colleagues in other disciplines (e.g., production, quality, purchasing, and sales).
  • Able to work effectively under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to keep documentation and files well structured.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently when required.
