Full-Time Mechanical Designer

Job Description

Responsible for designing, developing, and testing innovative feed trailers and various agricultural equipment. This role involves working on a wide range of projects, from small component designs to large-scale systems. Mechanical Engineers apply their knowledge of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes to create efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Work together with Sales and Production staff of the Engineered Transportation Equipment (ETE) and Pneumatic Conveying Systems (PCS) divisions to develop equipment that meets and exceeds customer requirements.
• Complete designs of major projects.

• Work together with Sales and Production staff of the Engineered Transportation Equipment (ETE) and Pneumatic Conveying Systems (PCS) divisions to develop equipment that meets and exceeds customer requirements.
• Complete designs of major projects.
• Produce designs and drawings used by production staff.
• Complete calculations and analysis on equipment as required.
• Create technical documents alerting production, sales, and service to upcoming changes.
• Work together with the design team to balance the engineering workload.
• Reduce overhead by improving production efficiency through effective designs.
• Work with the Manufacturing Engineering staff as appropriate to improve the production efficiency of designed components.

Requirements:

• Experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (PTC Creo or similar) for mechanical design.
• Familiarity with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality mechanical designs that exceed customer expectations.

Academic and Trades Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in engineering, preferably in the field of mechanical or manufacturing engineering, or:
• Engineering technologist diploma
• Starting wage will commensurate with experience, skills and qualifications.
