Full-Time Mechanical Design Engineer

General Description of the Position Function and Purpose

• Responsible for the design and validation of products for the YEU Test Solution Division
• Work closely with Product Managers and Engineering GM to research and develop products, processes and technologies vital to the TS Division
• Provide technical support to the TS Sales team for inquiries related to TS products and their applications

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Mechanical design, modeling, and drafting with 2D/3D CAD such as SolidWorks
• Understand and apply mechanical principles and assemblies
• Validate design by simulation and analysis – tolerance, structural FEA, CFD / thermal.
• Validate design by DOE and actual functional testing
• Work with Production, QA and parts manufacturing to enhance product design by DFM
• Lead failure analysis of production related issues from a designer perspective
• Conduct First Article Inspection and certification of NPIs
• Support technical communication with customers and Sales team
• Write technical reports and present them
• Other duties as assigned by Upper Management
• Devote full time, ability, attention, energy and skills in performing all duties as assigned and delegated by the Company

Knowledge and Skills Required by the Job

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years in semiconductor test field
• Knowledge in machining, molding, metal stamping, other related manufacturing processes
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in SolidWorks, FEA and CFD analysis
• Proficient in GD&T
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibility

• Supervisory controls – under general supervision
• Written Guidelines – written guidelines exist for some cases.

• Complexity – Performs highly complex duties that requires critical thinking
• Scope and effect – Increased sales through innovative products and excellent technical support

Environment

• Physical requirements – sedentary to light
• Work environment – this employee works in a heated and air-conditioned office environment majority of the time.

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Education – Bachelors Engineering Degree
• Experience – At least 3 years in semiconductor field
• Other – Experience in Test and Burn-in Socket design or applications

Additional Desirable Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, vendors, and personnel from internal departments.
• Travel as assigned by Upper Management.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
