Job Description

Steiner Enterprises, Inc. is a well-respected innovator of new product development, and we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to add to our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in new product design and development, with a strong focus on SolidWorks modeling. This position will primarily be assigned to one of our largest customers to develop new product.

Steiner Enterprises is headquartered in Lafayette, Indiana. Once acclimated to the company and position, this could become a hybrid position offering a blend of in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop 3D models using SolidWorks software for new product designs.
  • Develop and implement design solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Review and analyze design drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in the design review process to ensure that designs are optimal for manufacturing and assembly. and packaging.

Requirements:

  • Experience with metal fabrication, stamping and forming, metal machining & finishing processes, and kitting & packaging.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or relevant experience with mechanical designs.
  • 3-5 years of experience in new product design and development.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks software for 3D modeling and design.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturing principles.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome design challenges.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
