Job Description

The ideal candidate for Manufacturing Engineer will demonstrate mastery of Lean Manufacturing principles, driving efficiency and waste reduction with expertise, while embracing safety as the factory’s paramount value. This professional will excel in visual factory system deployment, instill a disciplined Kata cadence to sustain meaningful change, and champion technology and automation to transform the plant for a competitive, ever-evolving marketplace. With strong mechanical aptitude, they will mentor the maintenance team while troubleshooting issues, prioritizing engineered solutions and poka-yoke designs over fault attribution. Living and breathing safety, they will draw insights from the shop floor, exhibit exceptional critical thinking, and commit to daily progress, fostering a culture of accountability. They will partner with the operations team to share ownership and elevate processes in a dynamic, safety-first, and tech-forward manufacturing environment, with readiness to pursue training in laser and press brake fundamentals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize manufacturing processes using Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and eliminate waste, with safety as the foundation of all improvements.
  • Deploy visual factory systems with precision, ensuring workflows are clear, actionable, and inherently safe.
  • Establish and maintain a Kata cadence—a disciplined pattern of problem-solving, shop-floor feedback, and accountability, prioritizing safety in every cycle of change.
  • Leverage technology and automation to modernize processes, ensuring the plant remains agile and competitive in a dynamic market.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, applying strong mechanical aptitude to identify root causes and implement safe, effective solutions.
  • Mentor the maintenance team, instilling a safety-first mindset while providing technical guidance during troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Drive daily improvements through rigorous analysis, embedding safety and technological innovation as vehicles for progress.
  • Collaborate with the operations team, sharing responsibility for process refinement and championing safety and automation in all resolutions.
  • Design poka-yoke solutions to prevent errors, enhance reliability, and eliminate safety risks.
  • Work with design engineers to ensure manufacturability and adherence to quality and safety standards, integrating advanced technologies where applicable.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including SOPs aligned with visual factory principles, safety protocols, and automation processes.
  • Exemplify and enforce compliance with safety regulations and industry standards as a daily practice.

Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Expertise in deploying and managing visual factory systems.
  • Commitment to Kata as a cultural discipline, integrating shop-floor feedback into a habitual cadence for problem-solving, accountability, and safety.
  • Unwavering dedication to safety as the factory’s highest value, embracing it as a lifestyle and driver of change.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment-related challenges safely.
  • Proven capability to mentor maintenance teams, enhancing their technical expertise and safety consciousness during troubleshooting.
  • Enthusiasm for embracing technology and automation to transform manufacturing processes and maintain market competitiveness.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Dedication to designing poka-yoke solutions for operational excellence and risk elimination.
  • Passion for daily improvements and collaborative ownership with the operations team, rooted in safety and innovation.
  • Willingness to undertake training in laser and press brake manufacturing techniques.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing systems (e.g., ERP, MES).
  • Strong knowledge of production methods, including machining, assembly, or automation.
