Full-Time Manufacturing Engineer

Parry-Labs – Posted by Roland DIBOAnywhere

Job Description

We’re looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and help scale the production of cutting-edge compute systems. This role bridges mechanical and electrical disciplines and is essential to ensuring our products are built efficiently, reliably, and to spec. You’ll work closely with design engineers, supply chain managers, and contract manufacturers to translate prototypes into scalable, repeatable processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for edge compute hardware systems, including both mechanical and electrical subassemblies.
  • Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure designs are manufacturable (DFM/DFA) and testable (DFT).
  • Create build documentation, including assembly instructions, work instructions, BOMs, and test procedures.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by managing prototype builds, pilot runs, and ramp to production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to assembly, testing, and quality.
  • Work with contract manufacturers and internal teams to ensure consistent build quality and yield.
  • Design and implement custom tooling, fixtures, and test equipment as needed.
  • Monitor key manufacturing metrics and drive continuous improvement through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for safety, quality, and reliability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role, preferably in the hardware or electronics industry.
  • Hands-on experience with both mechanical assembly (chassis, thermal systems, fasteners, etc.) and electrical systems (PCBs, harnessing, power distribution).
  • Experience with CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) and ECAD tools.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation and managing change through PLM systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve build issues.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers or in a fast-paced startup environment is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with environmental or functional testing (vibration, thermal, EMI).
  • Background in embedded systems architecture.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards for PCB assembly and cable builds.
