Job Description

The Pratt & Whitney Columbus Forge Module Center is in search of a Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Support. The Manufacturing Engineer, Supplier Support will be responsible for developing and implementing plans that are in line with the business strategy to further our world class technology portfolio. This role will also provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets.

  • Leverage manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality. Assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigation; leverage manufacturing and tooling innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace airfoils
  • Develop best practices and engineering standard work for vendor assist; develop relationships with vendors to drive continuous improvement opportunities; assist with problem solving during manufacturing related investigations
  • Provide operational engineering support to develop technologies and processes which support the growth curve and cost reduction targets; monitor the non-conformances and identify areas to optimize, automate and trim waste.
  • Lead the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) journey to continuously improve the quality and exceed customer’s expectations
  • Drive partnership with Part Family Engineering and Quality Engineering teams through continuous improvement journey
  • Demonstrate commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures
  • Drive growth within the engineering team to transform Columbus Forge Blades into a world class manufacturing facility

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality or closely related industrial environment or a Master’s degree and 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering, manufacturing, quality or closely related industrial environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with CAD tools
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, experience with Kaizen events or experience with a continuous improvement program (CORE, 6S, etc.)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program /contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Engineering degree (mechanical/manufacturing)
  • SAP experience
  • Project management experience; Statistical Process Control, DMAIC, Process Certification, UPPAP, Six Sigma

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD – 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
