Full-Time Manufacturing Engineer (2 Year Experience Sheet Metal Required), SOLIDWORKS

Job Description

We are a leading metal fabrication shop in Murrieta, responsible for planning, and overseeing the process of creating metal structures by interpreting engineering drawings, selecting appropriate materials, optimizing fabrication techniques like cutting, bending, welding, and assembling metal components, ensuring quality control throughout the manufacturing process, and collaborating with other departments to meet project deadlines and specifications. Seeking an individual who has passion and experience in aftermarket vehicle upfitter components.

Responsibilities:

• Design Interpretation: Analyze and understand detailed and engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the required fabrication methods and tolerance.
• Material Selection: Choose Suitable metal alloys and thickness based on project requirements, considering factors like strength, corrosion resistance, and cost.
• Process Planning: Develop detailed fabrication plans, including cutting patterns, forming techniques, welding procedures, and assembly sequences to optimize efficiency.
• Equipment Operation: Oversee and operate various metal fabrication machinery such as laser cutters, CNC machines, press brakes, and welding equipment.
• Quality Control: Implement quality checks throughout the fabrication process to ensure adherence to specifications, including dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material properties.
• Project management: Manage fabrication projects by tracking progress, coordinating with different teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of finished products.
• Cost Estimation: Prepare cost breakdowns for fabrication projects, considering material cost, labor, and overhead expense.
• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to fabrication technicians regarding complex fabrication issues and troubleshooting.
• Design Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve design for manufacturability, reducing waste and time, and cost.
• Safety Compliance: During the design process, ensure that adherence to shop safety standards and protocols in the fabrication environment is met.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer (Preferred).
• 2+ years of experience with sheet metal (Required).
• 5+ years of experience with SolidWorks (Preferred).
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Preferred).

Job Details:

• Job Type: Full-time
• Work Location: In-person (Murrieta, CA)
• Schedule: 4-day workweek, Monday – Thursday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Pay: From $30.00 per hour (Based on experience)
