As an Intermediate Manufacturing Designer, you are responsible for translating product design concepts into production-ready plans, models, and documentation. An intermediate designer is expected to work with a greater degree of autonomy and project management responsibility. They ensure that products are functional, visually appealing, and manufacturable within specified cost and quality standards.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Create and manage manufacturing documentation. Develop detailed 3D CAD models, process sketches, and engineering drawings that convey specific manufacturing intent for parts and assemblies. 
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Integrate manufacturing and assembly constraints into product designs, ensuring all concepts meet cost quality and performance requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, CNC programmers, and management to coordinate design requirements and resolve issues.
  • Support prototyping and testing efforts, validate design concepts, and update documentation as needed.
  • Collect and refine initial drawings, calculations, and concepts to produce accurate and complete design models.
  • Verify design specifications, annotations, and technical data in CAD and manual formats. 
  • Contribute to project planning, milestone tracking, and standardization of design documentation.
  • Research new materials, technologies, and processes to support continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Adhere to ISO, safety, and quality standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Who You Are: 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
  • An Associates Degree with CAD training.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical Design or CAD for manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with 3D Modeling Software (SolidWorks & AutoCAD) is required. 
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) industry standards.
  • Must have good math and analytical skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and have strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to read and interpret technical blueprints.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner with the ability to work within strict deadlines.

Location/Schedule: Macon, GA / 1st shift
