Job Description

Meta Power Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Mechanical Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing metal fabrication assemblies with AutoCAD, Eplan, and SolidWorks, and providing oversight to assembly technicians in our fabrication shop. This job description is not intended to be a complete list of responsibilities, and the employee should expect to be asked to perform other duties that may fall outside of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

**Responsibilities:**

  • Design complex mechanical assemblies using AutoCAD, EPLAN, and SolidWorks.
  • Create, review, and interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of metal assemblies
  • Operate and program laser cutters, press brakes, and bending machines as required.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical oversight during the fabrication process to ensure quality standards are met and projects are completed on schedule.
  • Offer mechanical guidance to assembly technicians regarding the proper manufacturing methods and interpretation of design drawings.
  • Work with key stakeholders to recommend safety protocols in the fabrication shop, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the fabrication process.
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field or 5-8 years equivalent experience with an Associate’s degree in a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing metal fabrication assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes and techniques.
  • Familiarity and use of AutoCAD, EPlan and Solidworks software for design purposes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift heavy objects.

Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for working with tools and equipment.

Ability to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.

Physical stamina to work long hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.

Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Hours are 8:30 to 5:00 or shop hours as required and based on production schedule.
