Contract Design Engineer (CATIA)

A global automotive OEM is looking for a Design Engineer to join their team.

Requirements

• Requires a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering.
• CATIA experience
• Experience designing brackets and/or interior trim and/or automotive components
• Experience designing Sheetmetal and plastic parts.
• Additionally, must be proficient in technical writing and possess computer skills for scientific and technical applications.
• Must be able to proficiently handle multiple projects and develop analytical procedures.
• Work with suppliers to assure parts/services are requested appropriately, evaluate technical proposals, and write technical reports.
• Make technical decisions with moderate supervision.
• Ability to report research and test results in various technical formats. A
• Able to work with a team or on an individual basis to reach project goals.
• Five years of engineering experience making 3D designs and 2D drawings of automotive components from initial concept through mass production.
• Responsibilities to include: design feasibility, cost analysis, strength calculations, part construction, part specification, scheduling and coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating, and manufacturing of assigned systems. CATIA V5 & V6 experience preferred
