A leading provider of advanced propulsion and energetics systems is seeking a highly skilled Creo Product Definition Designer (Level 4) to join their team in Huntsville, Alabama. Position Overview

As a senior Creo Product Definition Designer, you will develop imaginative and practical solutions to a wide range of technical design problems. Working under limited general direction, you will create and maintain engineering design documents, product definition models, drawings, and related disclosure materials. This role requires strong expertise in CAD modeling, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and mechanical/aerospace hardware.

Key Responsibilities

Product Definition & Documentation – 40%

  • Create, check, and maintain high? quality CAD models and drawings using Creo (Creo 10.0 preferred).
  • Prepare preliminary design layouts, conceptual layouts, and detailed product definition.
  • Lead outsourced design projects and ensure consistent design documentation across teams.
  • Maintain accuracy within the PLM environment, including model relationships, attributes, and drawing consistency.

Design Calculations & Validation – 30%

  • Perform design analyses and calculations to verify that all design phases meet functional and tolerance requirements.
  • Conduct verification of product definition, including dimensional stack-ups and GD&T application per ASME Y14.5.

Project Estimation & Training – 20%

  • Provide resource and schedule estimates for assigned design tasks.
  • Support training and mentoring initiatives for staff involved in CAD and design activities.

Technical Guidance & Support – 10%

  • Offer technical direction to junior CAD designers and design support personnel.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for CAD methodology, tolerance application, and design best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and aerospace hardware.
  • Expert-level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) following ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to interpret product definition documents, specifications, and engineering requirements.
  • Minimum 10 years of CAD experience, preferably with Creo 10.0.
  • Experience with CAD data management and PLM systems, with Windchill preferred.

Desired Qualifications

  • ASME GD&T Certification is a strong plus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 10 years of related experience,

OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
