Job Description

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for generating programs for 3 and 5-axis routers, mills, and other machining centers. You will design and develop tooling and machining fixtures, read and comprehend work orders, production instructions, 2D prints, and 3D models, and track and document all revisions to product drawings and tooling. You will partner with Engineering and Sales to ensure parts meet customer specifications and provide feedback to management on potential risks, possible improvements, and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all projects/parts comply with required specifications and meet quality standards.
  • Precisely machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as CNC mills, 3 and 5 axis routers; Haas, Fadal, DMS.
  • Accurately calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Complete machine setups to part specifications.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Ensure that materials and molds meet quality standards and are production-ready.
  • Assist with machine maintenance and adhere to maintenance schedules.

Essential Skills

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Experience with CNC Machining and Programming.
  • Proficient with CAD/CAM systems, including Mastercam and SolidWorks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a machine shop, job shop, or production environment.
  • Knowledge of safe and proper techniques in accordance with company standards.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Strong organizational, logical thought, and time management skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is small and family-oriented, fostering close-knit teamwork. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday from 7 am to 11 am, allowing for a great work-life balance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 – $33.00/hr.

Workplace Type
