Caterpillar – Peoria, IL (May 1998 to Oct 1998) Design Engineer Developed multiple iterations of the Challenger Tractor Cab using Pro/SURFACE using nested Master Models. Worked closely with Industrial Designers to realize concepts specifically for B-Post Covers, rear wrap sections, and seats. Extensive use of Pro/SURFACE was used to capture form. Other duties included laying up foam models and administering various CAT employees and contractors with surfacing instruction to routing harness using Pro/CABLE.

BE Aerospace – Winston Salem, NC (Aug 1997 to May 1998) Design Engineer Worked closely with Industrial Design to realize seating concepts for British Airways Business class seating. Extensive use of Pro/SURFACE was uses to facilitate ID sketches into robust and ergonomically pleasing Aircraft seats and consoles. My personal emphasis was to create extremely robust and highly modifiable seat models so that engineers with marketing can easily modify models from a wide berth spanning 18” to 28” seats.

Brooks Stevens Industrial Design – Chicago, IL (Feb 1996 to Aug 1997) Design Engineer Worked within design teams to develop Zenith Television housings. Developed 8.0 lb 36” Gas assist Housings that support 150 lb inside components. Responsible for A-Side and B-Side Geometry. Also developed using Pro/SURFACE and Alias Studio Baxter Health Care products and Baby Seats.

Motorola – Libertyville, IL (Oct 1995 Feb 1996) Design Engineer Worked within design teams to develop using Pro/SURFACE first only at the time Motorola Japanese Cellular product. Developed using Pro/SURFACE Housings that featured first ever O-Ring to join housings.

Polaris – Rosseau, MN (Oct 1995 Feb 1996) Design Engineer Worked within the Watercraft design team to develop Using Pro/SURFACE SMC Hull, Deck and various other components of the craft. Used trajpar variables to build graph geometry of surface products.

Joss Design Group – Chicago, IL (Jan 1994 – April 1995) Design Engineer dates overlap Worked closely with Industrial Designers to develop sheet metal Duracraft Space heater. Also developed body parts and cab using Pro/SURFACE for a Hyster Fork Lift truck http://www.johnson-lift.com Other projects included Large yet still UPS shippable glass reinforced Nylon Dogloo dog house with snap fit functions for piecing the product together easily. Other household durable products included Duracraft Air Purifiers and Fellows disk holders to name only a few.

Motorola – Schaumburg, IL (June 1993 – April 1994) Design Engineer Worked closely with Industrial Designers to develop using Pro/SURFACE FM Frequency radio Products. Worked with Alias imports and extensive Pro/SURFACE.

Bell Northern Research (BNR) – Research Triangle Park, NC (Oct 1992 – June 1993) Design Engineer Worked closely with ID and Ergonomic teams to develop keyboards and ergonomic careful DNS 100 Switching systems. Developed trays for supporting Fiber Optics between Banks and rows.

National Cash Register (NCR) – Norcross, GA (April 1991 – Oct 1992) Design Engineer Developed various Hand Held scanner products using Pro/ENGINEER.

Alps Manufacturing – Long Beach, CA Summer 1994 (two weeks – Req. was for 6 weeks but It only required two weeks) Facilitated IGES Data from tooling vendor for emergency reverse engineering for second generation Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard. The design firm was in litigation with Microsoft at the time which is why I was brought in.

Reed Tool – Houston, TX Spring 1995 (one week) Worked with PTC and Reed tool to create 3d model of forged Oil Drill Rigging device. Responsible for a multitude of sales for PTC to Reed tool because of the model.

Motorola – Boynton Beach, FL (three week) Worked with design team to re-skin an existing pager using Pro/SURFACE for multiple markets. Managed Pro/SURFACE and top down training classes to staff engineers.
