Job Description


The Test and Development Division is responsible for developing methods and implementing testing of components and systems related to the design and qualification of the Hyperloop One Transportation System. This includes the HyperPod’s compressor, bearings, heat exchangers and other ancillary mechanical components and systems as well as the structural elements of the tube and pylon system. We are seeking candidates with varying levels of experience to join our team of qualified and diverse professionals at our Los Angeles headquarters.

Test Engineering Responsibilities
The Test Engineer is responsible for the construction, set-up, troubleshooting and operation of component and system testing platforms. This position is also responsible for the programming of control and data collection systems and is also responsible for the collection of data during the test phases. Additionally, the test engineer is responsible for the design, manufacture, and sourcing of simple components and test fixtures.

Development, manufacture and or sourcing of testing method and testing hardware
Program and implement data acquisition and control platforms to support testing needs
Construction, set-up and operation of testing equipment
Collection and correlation of data from testing data acquisition platforms
Troubleshoot and fix issues with testing equipment and or setup
Coordinate and oversee component or test fixture manufacture or sourcing
Develop test plans to meet specific testing needs as design requires

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
At least 5 years of experience in testing, testing methods, mechanical design or manufacturing methods
Ability to understand and interpret a variety of abstract and concrete variables and provide solutions to difficult problems
Working knowledge of 3D CAD Design Software such as Unigraphics NX, Solidworks, etc.
Must be technically and mechanically minded and willing to be “Hands On”

Preferred Skills

Component design and qualification experience
LabView programming experience desired
Knowledge of database software such as Microsoft Excel
Basic knowledge of measuring and calibration techniques.
Test fixture design and setup experience
Unigraphics NX experience
