SUSTAINING AIRWAYS R+D-Medtronic

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
•The Sustaining Airways R&D Intern, as a member of the Sustaining team, is responsible for supporting cost saving, standards compliance, failure investigation and product derivative projects focused on airways products including endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes.

•The position will provide the intern with exposure to tasks and challenges associated with supporting a medical device post-launch.

•The Sustaining Airways R&D Intern may also be responsible for:

o Functioning as a member of a cross functional team

o Assisting in component and test fixture design and development including
verification/validation testing and analysis

o Interacting with component suppliers as needed

o Assisting and developing test methods, protocols, reports and other product
documentation

o Assures compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and policies

o Participates in team decision making, attends meetings and recording/collating minutes
of meetings

o Providing consistent communication plans to support project activities

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

•Current, full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering

•Must be available to work at least 40 hours a week Monday-Friday

•Solid modeling experience desirable (SolidWorks preferred)

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

•Strong analytical and problem solving skills

•Working knowledge of engineering statistics (Minitab)

•Excellent organizational skills

•Ability to stay focused and work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work

•Excellent oral / written communication and interpersonal skills in cross-cultural teams
