Our Engineering team at the Product Development Center has an open opportunity for a Sr. Design Engineer. Engineering works with its partners in Product Development to deliver designs and specifications for products that satisfy customers while balancing stakeholder interests. Continuous improvement of the Quality, Cost and Delivery of engineering output – by everybody, every day – is the operating philosophy of the Engineering organization.

This is what you’ll do:

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver vehicle systems and components (bodywork, chassis, electrical and rider vehicle interface) to production.

• Deliver optimal designs while adhering to project targets, performance objectives, high quality, and cost minimization

• Utilize engineering tools such as CAD models and drawings, as well as, predictive analysis and conventional engineering calculations to demonstrate and communicate robustness of designs

• Perform DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, analyze test results and bring closure to test findings

Education Required:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree.

Experience Required:

We are looking for someone with..
A minimum of five (5) or more years of engineering experience in vehicle component design, in addition to the following:

• Demonstrated history of vehicle system and component design, using DFM and DFA skills;

• Experience creating and using DFMEA and DVP&R processes;

• Strong understanding of fundamental physics and demonstrated use of a variety of tools to introduce and to improve designs (i.e. engineering calculations, bolted joint analysis, FEA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis);

• Demonstrated examples of innovative thinking and creative problem solving approaches and experience with root cause identification methodologies;

• Understanding of project management tools and principles (requirements, scheduling, risk mitigation, budget, and metrics) through training and experience

• Demonstrated familiarity with Creo or comparable CAD tools.
