Job Description – Project Design Engineer

As our Project Design Engineer, you will join the team to assist or lead in the design, development, tooling design and manufacturing of technologies related to Nike Air Decoration. By leveraging your experience in 3D design and engineering, you’ll identify and explore new and creative paths given the problem(s) or project(s) to which you are assigned. You’ll interpret design needs from project meetings and design sketches to translate them into accurate 3D designs that can then be machined and assembled for project needs. In addition to supporting the team in 3D design you will be responsible for project management on new decoration technologies and managing existing tooling for the team. You will continually research, explore and educate yourself and others on evolving technologies, processes or tooling which makes new innovations in product design or manufacturing possible.

Requirements for the position include:

· BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, including 5 years experience in the fields of mechanical design and engineering, and/or product design, engineering and tooling design of plastic consumer products
· Proficiency in Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software is required
· Strong project management and organizational skills
· Knowledge and experience in decoration technologies such and dye, paints, coatings a plus
· Ability to handle multiple competing projects simultaneously
· Ability to analyze complex problems, develop innovative solutions and deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
· Strong written and verbal skills is required
· Ability to work cooperatively with diverse global teams
· Sensitive to differing cultures, customs and business practices
· Some lifting of tooling, parts and various equipment (up to 50lb)
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
