an exciting opportunity for **Product Design Engineer – Technical Specialists #IN561 in Columbus, Indiana**

**Key Responsibilities: **

+ Apply specialized knowledge of engineering principles and practices across various areas in support of projects in the design, development, analysis and release of products and subsystems through the product life cycle.

+ Create design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance,product life, manufacture, assembly and service.

+ Verify design using analysis and or functional testing, interpret results, drive decisions and assess risk.

+ Work cross-functionally to design and deliver solutions and resolve product issues.

+ Evaluate user needs and align product requirements with identified user expectations.Provide technical guidance on Design for Six Sigma (DFSS/DMAIC) projects utilizing Six Sigma tools including Integrated Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (iDFMEA) for complex component, algorithm, control system, or other systems.

+ Identify risk areas and develop corrective action plans necessary to mitigate risks.Lead cross-functional teams through the iDFMEA process.

+ Provide technical guidance to teams in the development of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) methods.

+ Perform concept design and architecture utilizing Predictive Modeling Tools ANSYS ,CREO, Advisor processes to follow through on the complete product life cycle and ensure that the design functions as intended in the customer’s installation.

+ Perform DVP&R (Design Verification Planning & Reporting) functional and field testing, interpret results, assess risk, and recommend customer-focused solutions in order to resolve customer installation issues.

+ Identify,support and resolve customer issues utilizing 7 Step Problem Solving Method for engine product design.

+ Provide Accelerated Life Testing and Performance Evaluation input for new product development.

+ Utilize knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to create and review drawings in CAD before release.

**Experience and Education: **

+ Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Industrial Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Design, Support or Application Engineer, or related position.

Experience to include:
+ Integrated Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (iDFMEA) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) methods

+ Design for Six Sigma tools (DFSS/DMAIC)

+ Predictive Modeling Tools: ANSYS, CREO, Advisor

+ DVP&R(Design Verification Planning & Reporting)

+ Accelerated Life Testing and Performance Evaluation

+ 7 Step Problem Solving Method for engine product design

+ Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)

+ Concept Design and Architecture.

JOB SITE: Columbus, IN

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week [8:00 am to 5:00 pm
