Job Description
Apply in-depth knowledge of scientific and engineering principles in resolving technical problems, investigating technologies and developing new products. Make independent decisions on research problems, technology investigations and new or improved product development.

Essential Job Functions:

• Create CAD and PLM documentation for electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Lead designer of parts and assemblies, coordinating with Advance R&D to implement the design intent.
• Working with engineers in other departments to create system-wide solutions.
• Actively contributing to product reviews on target hardware.
• Develop and implement innovations, design improvements and cost reductions for existing products and design in development.
• Supervise and direct external design resources during the development of product platforms and during the sustaining lifecycle of a product.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Required Experience:

Five or more years of progressive experience in an electro-mechanical product development environment with a proven track record of accomplishments

Preferred Experience:

Consumer Products background, a plus

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of 3D CAD modeling software
• Proven ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to work in deadline driven environment, and respond creatively to pressure
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Solid understanding of DFA/DFM principles
• Knowledge of various product construction materials, properties and applications
• Strong oral and written communication skills
