Mechanical Engineer Pro-E/CREO

Job Description :
The chosen candidate will perform static stress analyses on missile and spacecraft flight structures, and ground and test support equipment. The candidate is expected to know the basics of stress, either through education or work experience, and must be willing to learn and apply new/advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform stress analysis. Academic courses must include basic statics and mechanics of materials, or strength of materials, and basic dynamics, classes. A course in advanced mechanics of materials is preferred. It is strongly desired that the candidate possesses working knowledge of finite element analysis, and course work or work experience in finite element analysis is a definite plus.

Works in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades and preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity. Will be required to support designers in determining parts with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility. Will be required to support structural load test definition, requirements development, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts. Works with design engineers in developing type of structure, most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures. Prepares test plans and strength analysis reports. Interfaces with outside organizations to obtain information necessary to complete the analysis.

Basic Qualifications
BS/MS degrees from Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent/related fields.
Course work/experience in basic statics, mechanics of materials (strength of materials), dynamics, and finite element analysis.
The candidate must possess strong communication, both oral and written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Must be willing and able to obtain security clearances up to Top Secret/SCI. Must be willing and able to work occasional overtime to meet the customer schedule requirement.
Some travel may be required (5%-10%)

Desired skills
Working knowledge of FEA/CAD software
Experience with NASTRAN, ABAQUS, Siemens NX, Pro-E/CREO, MATLAB, or MATHCAD is strongly desired.
Familiarity with various forms of testing (static, thermal, acoustics, random vibration, and shock) is a plus.
