Job Description

At Mindtribe, we have 20 years of experience developing products and process. Our passion is working with clients to create impactful, human-facing, consumer electronics and medical devices. We’re looking for a thought-leader and technical implementer to join our team as the Mechanical Engineering Lead.

As a lead, you will be responsible for everything from early solution architecture through manufacturing transfer. At this point in your career, you can efficiently drive mechanical solutions on multiple integrated hardware efforts, mentor less experienced engineers on topics such as GD&T or DFM, and can deftly avoid common development pitfalls. You are able to clearly communicate your ideas to your internal project team and outside stakeholders from technical and non-technical backgrounds.

Here are some of the essential qualities we look for in a Mechanical Engineering Lead:

·Minimum of 6 years related product engineering experience (full development cycle from concept through production). A bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher is preferred.
·Significant hands-on manufacturing transfer experience of your designs, especially in overseas geographies
·Injection-molded plastic part design and first article inspection
·Project management skills such as scheduling, budget management, cost estimation, and resource utilization
·Interdisciplinary product development, including interfacing with industrial designers, electrical, firmware, and software engineering personnel
·Understanding of scalable manufacturing methods such as CNC machining, injection molding, ultrasonic welding, stamping, and heat staking

Other experiences we’re excited to talk about are:

·Direct experience with engineering challenges associated with medical devices, such as quality compliance, biocompatibility, clinical and regulatory processes.
·Experience with assembly and prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, silicone casting, laser cutting, urethane casting, quick-turn CNC machining, soldering
·Knowledge of commonly employed engineering fastening methods, such as screws, snap-fits, and adhesives
·Experience with electromechanical systems such as sensors, motor drives, battery enclosures, light pipes, touchscreens, and input peripherals

If you have a desire to work on with like-minded, interdisciplinary colleagues in a collaborative community, send us your resume and portfolio. We look forward to hearing from you.
