MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN-Raytheon

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work with a team of talented and experienced engineers in performing activities related to the design, development, integration and testing of mechanical products. Support for these activities may include design, modeling and generation of engineering drawings using Creo Parametric; supporting trade studies; and providing general engineering support for production and testing. The actual assigned tasks will depend on the skills of the individual intern and the project needs at the time. You will be expected to apply your engineering knowledge to provide creative and innovative solutions to problems and to ensure that projects are completed on schedule while following established procedures.

Required Skills:

Positive attitude, strong leadership and communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Customer focus and collaboration skills
Mechanical engineering course work such as: basic design, thermodynamics, dynamics, metallurgy, basic electrical circuits, mechanics of materials, modeling, analysis and simulation, and associated lab work.

Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools

Experience with a 3D CAD solid modeling tool

Other Engineering project or internship experience
Required Education (including Major):

Candidate for Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA with at least a Junior or above status as of Summer 2016.
(Salary Grade/level ST03 position requires a minimum of rising Junior level class status (graduating 2018)

(Salary Grade/level ST04 position requires a minimum of rising Senior level class status (graduation 2017)

This position requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
