Is aware of company standard products and manufacturing techniques. Works to the plan supplied by the design team. Attempts to anticipate the need for information by supervisors. Attempts to anticipate difficulties in the design. Delivers a quality product. Creates documents that are functional and accurate.Responsibilities: The Deliverables for this Position: Deliverables Standards of Performance Active member of the design team. Is aware of the status of the project and the needs of the project team. Is available and open in communications with both the design team members.Has a creative approach to the design process. Documents released for review are simple, clear, concise and accurate. Components are ultimately manufactured with a minimum of errors.Confers with design team. Maintains open communication with appropriate members of the team. Active participant of the design team.Engineering scheduling.Estimates the time required.Job documentation and organization Operates using the Guidelines for the Mechanical Engineering procedure memorandum as a reference. Creates simple, clear, concise and accurate documents whether handwritten, typed or drawn.Department standards, initiation, and participation. Is a proponent of utilizing existing standards when applicable, and proactive in the establishment of new standards when needed.Corporate & departmental team play. Operates adult to adult with all members of the design team and the company. Is sensitive to their behavior relative to others and behave in a professional, socially acceptable manner. Projects a positive image of Wes-Tech to fellow employees and the customer.Mentor & student. Shares experience willingly. Considers new ideas, products and processes without bias. Participates in continuing education relative to the position Job Requirements: Standard of Performance Technical Knowledge Aptitude in mechanical design Exposure to the industries served by Wes-Tech. Desires to become proficient in automation design. Familiarity of mechanical engineering and design methods. Analysis & Judgment Is analytical and fair. Effectively displays the basic talents and skills required to create manufacturing drawings. Open to learn the tools typically used to supplement an appropriate design; concept sketches, flow and timing charts, calculations and correspondence. Interest in the special needs of our typical customers in the automotive and consumer goods industries. Can grasp common approaches to manufacturing. Has an interest in the most common devices required to control the equipment and their proper implementation at the design phase. Willing to work within the guideline of proper engineering practices. Willing to follow an organized and functional approach to the engineering process. Accepts responsibility for one�s own work. Proficient with computers and able to quickly and efficiently produce drawings and required documentation.Education & Training BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. Training and experience in mechanical design. Proficient in the principles and concepts of mechanical engineering. Proficient in the principles and concepts of mechanical design.
