Job Summary:

This Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the management and execution of Direct Material Productivity projects. Accountable to achieve desired results within budget, at desired cost levels, to specified quality and functionality requirements, and within the overall program schedule.

Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):

– Apply standard work business processes pertaining to VA/VE based on bench-marking, base lining & development.

– Lead small, cross-functional project teams to meet productivity objectives.

– Follow Climate Solution’s Phase-Gate process.

– Develop, plan and execute test plans (for components, sub-systems, and systems) for reliability, durability, performance, and safety.
– Analyze, condense, and present test data/results.

– Conduct technical designs reviews.

– Execute engineering change orders.

– Maintain orderly project records. Know, document, and communicate project status as required both verbally and in written form.

– Plan and co-coordinate timely integration of corrective actions.

– Drive project execution.

Minimum Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and at least 3 years of product development experience is required.

Key Competencies:

– HVAC or Refrigeration experience desired, but not required.
– Strong project management and communication skill desired.
– Proven ability in the application of mechanical engineering concepts and tools to deliver practical solutions that meet customer and business requirements.

– Proven ability in delivering assigned tasks on-time while meeting technical, reliability and performance goals.

– Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, (program manager, manufacturing, supply management, product management, sales, suppliers, etc.).
