Job Description

Mechanical Engineer  II – Aerospace – Creo – PIPING MODULE

Summary: The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for engineering mechanical systems following the leadership of more senior engineers and team leads. This includes but is not limited to mechanical design, analysis, and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

I. Mechanical Engineering and Documentation role:
a. Implement design updates and generate detailed part and assembly drawings for large systems.
b. Implement product design utilizing engineering principles and standard engineering tools.
c. Route piping and pneumatics using Creo piping module.
d. Apply experience, critical thinking, and expertise in design reviews.
e. May work under a senior engineer on larger projects.
f. Provide inputs to project planning, budgeting, scheduling and tracking.
g. Complete engineering documentation so product designs can be produced while meeting the proper regulatory requirements.
h. Communicate with vendors, team and PM for the advancement of projects.
i. Identify design and product risks and mitigations.
j. Identify scope creep and inform the project manager.
k. Adheres to Syncroness Quality System processes.
l. Additional responsibilities assigned by your supervisor.

II. Mechanical Engineering Leadership role:

  • May lead small teams and/or serve as solo technical resource.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to subordinate engineers.
  • Interact with customer to both derive and communicate technical direction.
  • Work with PM & SE to understand system level requirements and implement forward actions with ME team members.
  • Technical review of team member work.
  • Participate in outside activiies for the advancement of career and exposure of Syncroness to others.

Requirements:
Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of recent, practical applications of Pro/E Wildfire or Creo.
  • Experience with the Piping Module REQUIRED.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a technical college or university in an Engineering or Technical Management field plus 2 years of engineering / product development experience or a Master’s Degree in engineering.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering CAD drawings, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to work with customers to help them understand requirements and technical issues.
