C&D Skilled Robotics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Beaumont, Texas.

General Description

Under the direction of the Technical Director of Engineering, coordinate, organize and assign Mechanical Engineering staff to engineering projects and provide day-to-day direction to ensure product specifications meet customer and sales requirements. Ensure engineering plans, drawings, documents and related materials meet the requirements of company products, with regard to cost, quality and quantity specifications. Act as a Project Manager/Coordinator for major/key Company Jobs and required. Complete mechanical components and assembly designs, specification, reach studies, simulation and testing of equipment. Provide start-up, factory acceptance testing and assistance to production team leaders as directed. Occasionally assist the Customer Field Service and Support teams in installation and maintenance jobs.

Core Responsibilities:

Comprehend and document customer/plant specifications for equipment and parts/components needs and complete design and engineering plans, drawings and bill of materials requirements using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Act as a Project Manager for major/key company.
Confer with engineers, management, and appropriate personnel to observe, test and evaluate the operation of machinery and equipment in order to identify causes of malfunction and implement design improvements.
Provide mechanical support knowledge to the Engineering Department for all equipment, with emphasis on Robotics Palletizing machinery.
Assist mechanical assembly departments to redesign, build, test, repair and modify production equipment to customer specifications, with emphasis on mechanical design and installation.
Develop/work with Engineers to develop effective sequence of operations for Jobs and communicate with for controls/productions teams for use in the layout, design and programming of PLC controls, programming of PLC-based control systems and programming of lower-level operator interfaces (teach pendant).
Complete in-shop testing of machines prior to shipping and complete “run-out” test forms.
Support the Installation team (Electrical & Mechanical) during and post install, repair and/or adjust the electrical and PLC components of customer machinery as required, including the installation of equipment and startup, when applicable, at end customer facility.
Provide updated information to Team Leader on a daily basis; attend project and team meetings and ensure all team members are kept up to date on project.
Maintain completed records on customer problems, problem causes, repairs and maintenance performed.
Minimum Requirements:

BS in Mechanical Engineering degree.
Min 4-years’ experience in mechanical design work in the automation of palletizing and packaging industries.
Team leader or manager experience a plus.
Gantry and Robotics experience highly desired.
Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, GD&T, FEA and ANSI dimensioning standards. Excellent knowledge of machines, tools, pneumatic and mechanical technology, including equipment construction, design, use, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, testing installation and operations monitoring.
Ability to occasionally travel nationwide and internationally.
Able to verbally and in writing, effectively gather and assimilate information to produce designs, layouts and drawings which meet customer specifications and requirements.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
