Role Summary/Purpose

Engineer responsible for design transfer, process development, process change control, lean implementation, document updates, test equipment calibration management and equipment/ATE Repair, mentoring and development of repair technicians, monitoring and correction around part FOA/IFR, manages facility changes for harvest testing and/or process changes.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Implement product change as required including documentation, test equipment, and work instruction update.
2. Utilizing initiative and independent judgment construct and assist in evaluating root cause failure modes using conceptual descriptions and ideas. Drives FOA and IRF issues to resolution.
3. Perform complex troubleshooting encompassing multiple variables and unknowns to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution. Recommend, design and conduct experiments and diagnostic tests, as required to draw conclusions and solutions.
4. Develop existing repairs to improve throughput, raise quality levels, and raise the efficiency of repair technicians.
5. Coordinate and monitor the calibration of all production test equipment to insure it remains in calibration as well as good repair.
6. Maintains spare part test procedures including specific repair process instructions, operation of test equipment and instructions for testing the repaired part.
7. Work closely with repair operations team and transfer new repair process to operations by conducting hands-on training.
8. Provide strong individual contributions in the context of achieving team goals. Provide technical leadership by assisting others in troubleshooting, answering questions and seeking engineering assistance.
9. Train/mentor repair technicians through technical communications, hands on training, and/or presentations.
10. Lead compliance and quality activities by looking for defect trends, learning about quality issues and concessions and passing information to other technicians.
11. Serve as the technical expert on new repair introductions by providing feedback to engineering personnel as new repairs are developed and new procedures are implemented.
12. Utilize advanced technical communications throughout the repair life cycle to improve internal models and/or externally sourced components in terms of system performance, reliability, functionality, and serviceability.
13. Lead, develop, and execute training plans as required.
14. Implement and manage facility changes in the introduction of new process and/or the impacts do to the introduction new harvest testing.
15. Key player in RAQA production activities including audit support
16. Comply with EHS regulations and QMS policies.

1. Associates degree, or a High School diploma and 7 years electronics experience
2. Strong communication skills with the ability to lead others
3. Demonstrated intuitive and advanced proficiency to logically troubleshoot electronic FRUs up to component level, using identifiable problem solving techniques and previous experience
4. Ability to draw accurate conclusions from test data, malfunctions, or deviations, and coordinate implementation of corrections to the existing design or process
5. Ability to develop test procedures including specific repair process instructions, test system operations instructions and repaired part functional test instructions.
6. Ability to convert design drawings and concepts to tangible and functional hardware
7. High proficiency to interpret and explain complex technical information
8. Demonstrated proficiency to utilize and modify computerized work systems
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
10. Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information
11. Demonstrate an ongoing effort to maintain knowledge of current technology
12. Ability to communicate using local language

Desired Characteristics

1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology related field
2. Prior experience with component level replacement, FAB and circuit board repair
3. Prior experience with development of test instructions.
