Description SUMMARY

Responsible for engineering design and documentation in support of the OEM Engineering team

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Endorse and comply with all Cummins Central Power’s Safety policies and initiatives.

Endorse and actively support Cummins Central Power’s Customer Support Excellence (CSE) efforts.

Specify, design, document, and support Project Engineers with machine-based engine systems for original equipment manufacturers’ (OEM) prototype machines and power units through drawings, bills of material, and project documentation.

Provide application and test support to Project Engineers.

Cummins Advisor Product Selection, Design Reviews, and Installation Reviews for OEM prototype projects.

Work with Engineering and Material Flow departments to complete engineering change requests.

Work with Engineering and Material Flow departments to ensure quality systems are in place for accurate build content and complete customer satisfaction.

Requirements KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Classes completed towards a BS degree in Engineering

Experience with machine design and 3D design tools. (PTC Creo or equivalent)

Knowledge of engine systems, machine systems and installation practices are desirable.

Effective written and verbal communication skills are desirable.

Willingness to perform instrumentation and testing on diesel engines and OEM equipment is required.

Strong customer led focus

Ability to work in cross functional teams with manufacturing, service, purchasing, marketing and sales

Organized and detail oriented with good problem solving skills

Qualities of persistence and initiative

Expected graduation date of Dec 2017 or later

Experience or coursework in quality systems is beneficial

Computer and Microsoft Office skills.

Excellent communication skills (i.e., in person, over the phone, and via email).
