Working for the Electro Hydraulic System Architecture Component Product Line within the Electrical and Electronics, Passive and Active Signal Distribution Department, the Electrical Component Project Engineer is globally responsible for all DC motors, related subject matter and related technologies, as well as, provides engineering support to maintain existing DC motor component families within multiple vehicle product segments. This individual will be responsible and support from a hardware standpoint, sub-system, system and application engineering. Oversight of Product Development and Program Management of DC motors within three major areas of concentration: agricultural, construction, and commercial vehicles. The individual will report into a global team with overall DC motor responsibility as part of the company’s electrical component subject matter.

Responsibilities include:

Responsible to perform product development, component engineering activities toward the research, development and co-development of DC motors, typically using a strategic subset of global supply chain partners,

Responsible and contributes to the design of existing and/or new DC motor and related component subject matter,

Responsible for technical evaluations, assessments and recommendations for robustness levels on DC motor and related components within company specified standards processes and protocols,

Responsible and contributes in establishing design validation plans, end of line requirements and testing requirements for DC motor components, in addition to their overall design,

Contributes to the ongoing evolution and continuous improvement of DC motor components, as well as, test procedure and standardization for DC motor components ,

Responsible for technology roadmaps and related strategies of DC motor components,

Responsible for standardization of common DC motor components covering all sectors of business, promoting commonization of components,

Responsible for administering and owning all related Engineering Change Requests and Orders with both internal company systems and external supplier systems,

Other Related Responsibilities include:

Participate in problem resolutions of DC motor components utilizing industry known best practices such as 8D, and 5Why,

Contributes in recommendations to applications and systems team on best in class utilization of DC motor components,

Responsible for preparation of designs, layouts and drawings for DC motor component hardware developed and/or improved,

Supports application, sub system and system engineering teams with preparation of reports,

Responsible in the facilitation of communication between engineering, manufacturing, quality and other functional areas within multi-disciplinary product development team environments,

Responsible for Design Of Experiments and Design Validation testing, as well as, the recognition and recommendation of design and validation gaps covering existing Off The Self DC motor technologies and custom developed DC motor hardware,

Responsible for technical liaison with suppliers,

Responsible for internal customer satisfaction, documenting processes and best practices as well as reviewing detailed engineering drawings and releasing parts production procurement for global operations,

Responsible for recommendation and implementation of test equipment, disassemble experimental components, oversight of corrective actions and ownership in determining the cause of failures and/or travel to supplier sites as needed to facilitate communication between engineering and suppliers,

Responsible for the reporting and implementation of improvements to product engineering teams for execution based on knowledge gained through cross-functional interactions at the suppliers,

Responsible for the coordination of DC motor projects and their progress, interfacing regularly with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and compliance to company requirements, specifications, standards and 2D/3D engineering documentation, interacting directly with interval customer agreeing on packaging constraints and technical requirements as well as drive required timing of delivery,

International travel required

Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or technical field
A minimum of at 5 years’ experience concentrated in DC motor product development.
5-7 years of industry electromechanical experience working with small motor product development within AC/DC Motors.
2 years experienced in the management and implementation of Product Life Management (PLM) system and CAD systems within 2D and 3D design software (Siemens TcAE and Pro Engineer Creo is used)
2 years experience in project engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to problem solve
OEM experience or Tier 1 experience preferred but not required.
Communication skills in foreign languages preferred but not required
In depth knowledge within: Global Product Development, component and product testing, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Failure analysis
