Summary: The Application Engineer position provides product technical support, special product quotes, and custom order management. The position also acts as the customer’s technical liaison between our sales and marketing and engineering departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide technical assistance to customers regarding high end HVAC products, specifically Air Handlers, Fan Coils and Blower Coils, along with other brand specific air distribution components.

Manage projects under direct supervision of the Product Manager and support new product initiatives with input and feedback of drawings.
Conduct technical trainings to customers on proper application of the products.

Process quotes, orders, and shipment data for special products while developing highly professional business relationships with vendors and plants.

Assist with maintaining the product specific submittals by updating servers with the most current revisions provided by engineering.

Manage an Excel based list of highly important SPRs (special product requests) for our representative sales force. Catalog the frequency of SPRs and evaluate the potential for new product development.

Create and monitor SPR status reports and charts utilizing Microsoft Excel.

Must be able to creatively problem solve while using the materials and facts at hand. Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility to work on multiple projects and assignments is critical.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B. S.) from an accredited four-year College or University in Engineering; and one to two years of hands on SolidWorks or AutoCAD experience is required.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to understand and apply basic engineering calculations and advanced mathematics.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills
Ability to efficiently apply advanced functions within MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software. Basic knowledge of computer aided drafting software, AutoCAD or equivalent.

Other Qualifications
Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time to respective manufacturing plants or customer representative offices for training or product audits.
